Krugersdorp Club was founded in 1894 by Dr Wouter van der Merwe and Dr Percy Stewart as a social meeting place in the rapidly developing mining town.
Its wood-and-iron clubhouse dates from 1897. The club continues to serve food and refreshments, preserving a rare living link with Krugersdorp's earliest civic and social life.
